It’s a beautiful gift that the day Richard passed
away is also a National holiday in the land of our
heritage. Sweden celebrates Saint Lucia day, December
13: “The festival of the lights” bringing
light into the darkness of winter offering hope
and inspiration to authors. She is the patron
saint of Love and kindness: A topic Richard was
most avid about writing and exampling in every day
life.
In honor of the light Richard still carries through
the world, we had about 100 friends and family to
our home to light candles and float them in our
pool. We spent time in quiet reflection and
thoughts about Richard and then met in a gathering
of community support to share those memories. Please
